New
excess baggage charges apply to all Air France passengers flying
from Canada as of January 16, 2007.
Passengers
traveling in Tempo (Economy) are permitted to check 2 bags not
exceeding 23 kilos each. Passengers traveling in Tempo (Economy)
class and carrying more than 2 bags will be charged a fee of CA$
150 for each extra bag not exceeding 23 kilos. For each bag weighing
between 23 and 32 kilos, a flat fee of CA$ 50 will be collected.
Bags weighing between 32 and 45 kilos are subject to previous
authorization, which must be obtained before the day of departure.
Passengers
traveling in “l’Espace Affaires” and “l’Espace
Première”, Club 2000 and Flying Blue Platinum members
benefit from a free baggage allowance of 2 pieces not exceeding
32 kilos each. Each extra bag weighing up to 32 kilos will be
subject to a fee of CA$ 150.
Particular
items are subject to a different allowance and fee:

Infants: 1 stroller and 1 bag not exceeding 10 kilos
and 115 cms (total of the 3 dimensions) can be carried
free of charge.
• Golf equipment: can be included in the
free baggage allowance. If in excess of the free baggage allowance,
a fee of CA$ 75 applies.
• Ski equipment: can be included in the
free baggage allowance. If in excess of the free baggage allowance,
a fee of CA$ 50 applies.
• Diving equipment: can be included in
the free baggage allowance. If in excess of the free baggage allowance,
a fee of CA$ 150 applies.
• Bicycles, surf and windsurf equipment:
excluded from the free baggage allowance. A fee of CA$ 150 applies.
• Live pets (in the baggage hold or the
cabin): excluded from the free baggage allowance. Fee varies according
to total weight.
• Passengers traveling to Africa are allowed
a maximum of 3 bags, therefore only one piece exceeding the free
baggage allowance.
